The community begins
UNITI starts as a community of working people and their families helping each other, three years before it incorporates.
October 31, 2023
UNITI becomes tax-exempt
The effective date of exemption under section 501(c)(3), later confirmed by the IRS determination letter.
December 9, 2024
IRS recognizes UNITI as a public charity
Classified under 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Contributions are deductible. UNITI files Form 990 annually.
May 5, 2026
UNITI Upskill's training track goes live
Twenty live sessions with recordings and materials for members who need new skills first, and the first member feed.
May 14, 2026
The practice lab opens
A place for Upskill members to practise between sessions, at no cost to them.

The first opportunities board: members post projects and job leads for each other, the seed of UNITI Upskill.

- July 6, 2026Help keep the practice lab open for Upskill membersThe practice lab lets UNITI Upskill members work with real tools between sessions at no extra cost. A new support page and supporters wall let donors keep it that way.
- July 6, 2026Kids Enrichment begins: the first six-week program for teensTeens aged 13 to 18 start today, building toward a project they will present to parents in six weeks. Registered by parents, run by volunteers.
- May 5, 2026UNITI Upskill's training track goes liveMembers who need new skills first get twenty live sessions with recordings, a community feed, and a certificate on completion, followed that month by the first leads board and the practice lab.

What is UNITI?
UNITI is a 501(c)(3) public charity, a community organization for working people and their families in the United States. Members help each other find work, raise their kids, play, build businesses, and settle a first home. One membership, $100 a year per family, covers every service, and members run them.
What does membership cost?
$100 a year per family, paid once when you join. It covers everyone in the household and every service, with no per-program fees for members. Non-members are welcome at individual programs for a fee set per program. Some events at rented venues carry a small cost-recovery fee, stated before you register.
How do I take part?
Join the member hub at uniti.team. One account opens every service: events, the classifieds, the jobs board, and the programs. This site is the organization; that site is where members act.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. UNITI has been exempt under section 501(c)(3) since October 31, 2023, and contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law. You receive a receipt for every gift.
Where does the money go?
Venues and equipment for programs, the tools members use, outreach to the next members, and administration. Leads volunteer, so there is no payroll. Details on the Financials page.
Can my company partner with UNITI?
Yes. Hiring partners get introductions to members we know; sponsors put their name on a service or an event. See Sponsor and partner.
How can I help without money?
Two hours a month: mentor, review resumes, captain a team, lead a forum track, or speak at one session. Every role has a fixed time ask.
